In 1967, the first working prototype for a video game console was released. The "Brown Box" was invented by Ralph H. Baer and featured six games: ping pong, tennis, handball, volleyball, chase games and a light gun game.
In 1989, the first handheld video game with a color LCD display was released. The game, Lynx, was released by Atari.
